Social Program

Sunday July 26th - All-Day Tour

As the perfect welcome to Berlin, we will provide a full-day specially tailored tour. This tour is a great way to meet other delegates and get some early networking in. Setting off at 10:00am, we will be visiting the best of Berlin's famous sights as well as a host of unique and interesting locales that make up the real Berlin for those in the know! The tour will be wrapped up by about 7 pm.

There are limited places for this tour, so please register your interest as soon as possible. Cost is appr. 40,-- euros including lunch and transport, payable on boarding the bus.

Tuesday July 28th - Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be hosted by the Restaurant Heising, Rankestr. 32, just around the corner from the Steigenberger Hotel. The Heising is renowned for its excellent kitchen, its refined old-fashioned interior and welcoming atmosphere.

A ticket to the dinner is included in the full registration, but is not included in student, one-day or workshop-only registrations.

There are no social events currently scheduled for after the conference (Thursday), or on Monday night, but there are several options for delegates to consider in and around Berlin. We will be happy to help you make the most of your visit!

Wednesday July 29th - Ralph H. Baer, inventor of home video game consoles, introduces his "Timeline History of Games"

Not actually part of the conference, but a perfect along-side opportunity ...

Video game inventor Ralph H. Baer will be the guest of HomeBase Lounge at an event to mark the publication of his "Timeline History of Games" collection, which will highlight the invention of the first home video game console, the Odyssey Console of 1972. In a unique partnership with the Berlin Computer Games Museum, the historical documents have been uploaded to an online archive, which will be freey accessible to all after its official presentation.

The event takes place near Potsdamer Platz at 7pm. It is being organised by the Computer Games Museum, part of fjs e.V., the Berlin Gaming Network and the A MAZE. Games Culture Circle.
